Nearly a century after hosting Conway, NH's first talking picture, the historic Majestic Theatre has been restored to its former glory through a significant renovation. Following a devastating fire in 2005 that severely damaged its interior, Mountain Top Music Center acquired the theatre and undertook a comprehensive rebuilding effort. They enlisted SMS to design and install state-of-the-art technology, ensuring the Majestic continues to serve as a cultural landmark.
To accommodate multiple types of entertainment, the theatre sought a versatile solution capable of handling any demand. By integrating specialized technology for film projections and concerts, the venue ensures exceptional sound quality across all performances, making it uniquely equipped to host a diverse range of events.
The 5.1 channel cinema audio system includes 3-way screen channel speakers and a subwoofer which can be rolled onto the stage. These speakers push sound through the retractable perforated filmscreen.
The stage was fully equipped with new rigging, battens, and curtains, providing a versatile setup for various performances. SMS enhanced the existing lighting system by adding PAR fixtures above the stage and installing a new lighting console, significantly boosting the venue's production capabilities.
